As the Chinese saying goes, “To know one’s own strength and the enemy’s is the sure way to victory.” Runners should learn to recognize the relationship between injuries and illness, the difference between general injuries and more severe injuries, and help the doctors to find the source of the problem.
It is absolutely necessary for athletes to learn how to distinguish the extent of their own injuries. Circumstances such as the cause of the injury, different external environments in which it occurred, and the extent of injury can be completely different for each individual. Therefore, one cannot determine the extent of one’s injury by simply relying on “similar cases,” or “cases that have been encountered before.” This is a wrong concept.
