On the morning of November 15 2015, at Dr.Bob Chen STaR studio, people from Dr.Bob Chen`s team gave a public lecture to the people from Sunshine Non-profit running group about “How to prevent running injuries”.
The Sunshine Non-profit running group wants to transmit a healthy, happy, green idea about how could run freely and healthily. In order to further increasing scientific awareness about how to prevent injuries during running, the running group leader invited Dr.Bob Chen to give a lecture on this topic.
1.Training Part
The first part of the lecture is teaching everyone how to activate muscles before running, how to distribute energy during running, and how to relax muscles after running. It was ended up with some training methods taught by Han Xueliang, the supervisor of training department in Dr.Bob Chen STaR Studio.
2. Rehabilitation Part
The second part which is mainly about the injuries prevention is provided by Wang Xuehai, the supervisor of physical therapy department. He introduced the reason and prevention methods of several common running injuries such as the runner`s knee and the ankle sprain and how to prevent those injuries through improving the running postures.
3. Foot Pressure Test
The third part is the interactive activities, we selected runners randomly to test their foot pressure and the results were analyzed by Chen Jixiang, the staff of the studio. Through the test, he explained the results and give the advices to runners. (Here special thanks to RSscan for providing the equipment)
This public lecture introduced the mechanism of running related injuries, the post-processing of the injuries, the treatment and training methods which was highly praised by all the attendance.
