From January 15 to 25, 2015, Dr. Bob Chen’s team arrived in the Shanxi Fenjiu Basketball Club (hereafter referred as the Shanxi team) to conduct a ten-day functional physical rehabilitation from injury for two foreign players: Abbas Zaid and Von Wafer.
 
During a game against the Jilin Northeast Tigers, Zaid scored 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Wafer scored 14 points.  On the evening of January 23, with home court advantage, the Shanxi team had a narrow 2-point victory over the Shandong team, 106-104.  During this game, Wafer scored 39 points and 5 assists, and Zaid scored 15 points and 14 rebounds.  On January 25, on their home court, the Shanxi team beat the Qingdao team 124-114.  During this game, Wafer contributed 51 points, including 10 three pointers, and had a new personal best in both events. 
 
Both Zaid and Wafer have been old friends with Dr. Chen’s STaR Studio.  As early as the CBA’s Season 2012-2013, Dr. Chen and his team members conducted detailed injury function tests and assessment according to the players’ specific circumstances.  During the long-term relationship, both Zaid and Wafer have established a great trust and deep friendship with the studio. 
 
The injury this time occurred during the match with the Zhejiang Guangsha team.  When Wafer and an opponent were going up for the tip-off, due to a body collision, Wafer accidentally injured himself.  Dr. Chen examined his injury very carefully, and, taking into consideration that he would be going back to Shanxi to train with the team the next day, preparing for a game against the Jilin Northeast Tigers, Dr. Chen came up with a three-day targeted physical rehabilitation prescription.  Its purpose was to strengthen the physical function while treating his injuries, and laid a solid foundation for the rest of the CBA games. 
 
After the three-day systematic physical rehabilitation training and the 4-day systematic rehabilitation protection, both Wafer and Zaid’s injuries were completely healed.  They could fully meet the high-intensity that the CBA games had required, and they could smoothly complete the special technical movements during the games.  The news of the injuries to these two top players grabbed a lot of attention from the audience.  Wafer scored 51 points and helped the Shanxi team to an 11-game winning streak.  Sports injuries are inevitable, but timely and effective diagnosis and treatment are the key to ensuring a successful athletic career.
