When we first get to know the spine, the number of its dense bones and muscles may shock us. To be able to understand the knowledge inside such a large number of muscles and bone connectors could be a huge challenge.
The students of Dr. Chen’s Elite Training Course, who completed their study of the spine in a week’s time, celebrated in the emotion of pain and happiness. They were happy to understand its mysteries, and some people resolved their loved one’s chronic illness in their backs; in order to change the position of their lumbar spine, some people got rid of years of back pain. They felt pain because when seeing the spine, they have to be able to identify immediately its properties and locations with their hands, which is very difficult.
The seminar on the topic of the lower back was held as scheduled, and the students handled their speeches precisely and with ease. At the seminar, students were divided into three groups, and they explored and had a heated debate on lower back injuries appearing in different sports. Non-stop debating means never-ending learning, and from that, everyone learned this important point: treating injuries with characteristics of specific sporting events is the most practical and effective way.
When analyzing unfamiliar sports injuries, it is essential to know and understand the technical characteristics of the specific sport. For example, in eight-person rowing, all the athletes appear to be doing the same thing – drive and recovery – but each actually bears very different responsibilities. Coach Han Xueliang, who used to be a professional rowing athlete, talked about his own experience with specific cases, and many questions were answered. Dr. Chen indicated that we must see things from different perspectives, and understand where the injuries are coming from, which will provide great reference value for future works.
