On March 26th, 2014, the Manpower Center United Championship Fund of the State Sports General Administration arranged a one-day IOC Athlete Career program (Chinese Olympic Program) training for the third term students of the Retired Athletes Physical Rehabilitation Professional Training Course. The purpose of this training was mainly to help athletes enhance their awareness and skills for developing career plans, have better understanding of themselves, improve their interpersonal and communication skills, raise their confidence upon stepping into society and the workplace, and face life’s new challenges. During the early survey, the training mainly covered introduction to the IOC Athlete Career program, attitude adjustment, career planning, interpersonal network building, experience sharing of athletes, and so on. The education program director of the Chinese Athletes Educational Foundatio, Guan Xinyi, made the opening speech. The director of the Physical Rehabilitation Program, Bob Chen, attended this training. The deputy director of the Talent Department at Manpower Center of the Sports General Administration, Zhang Xinfang, made an introduction for the contents and ideas of the IOC Athlete Career program.
